The Airfusion Evo is a combination of a skin on frame kayak and an inflatable kayak. The hull and deck are reinforced with a complete aluminum frame but the side walls are both drop-stitch. This design leads to a very rigid and puncture resistant hull without having a lot of weight in material. The more rigid hull creates a v-shape which cuts through the water instead of floating on the surface, which makes this kayak very stable but also very efficient. The drop-stitch side panels create rigidity by using the stitches to maintain shape while having the lower pressure air maintain this ideal shape. This reduces the risk of over pressurization and delamination in hot and cold weather. There is a rear access hatch that operates the same way as a dry bag, with a rolled top edge and a clip. There is also storage and the bow in front of the paddler. Since this is a skin on frame and inflatable design the set up and inflation time is fast, only taking a few minutes. This kayak can remain inflated for long periods of time and can be stored inflated in a rack or in the storage bag. This kayak packs down very small for easy transport and winter storage.
